6 Days Rwanda Safari

In these two days of your safari in Akagera National Park,you’ll spend a day in Kigali and a visit to the Gorilla Guardian Centre in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 01: Arrival and transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon your arrival at Kigali meet among our representatives who’ll convey you to Akagera National Park, which is located in eastern Rwanda bordering Tanzania, and has been administered by African Parks in partnership with the RDB since 2010. It encompasses some of the most spectacular savannah in East Africa – open plains, woodlands, inland sea, swamp, and grassy low mountains.

Day 02: Akagera National Park

An early wake up to enjoy a full day safari game drive chaperone by an expert guide, driving through the marvellous landscape of Akagera National Park. The varied landscape is shown through the different species spotted here. Visitors to the park will be able to prospect a range of wildlife on proficiently-guided game drives, walks and boating trips, including buffalo, lion, leopard, elephant, giraffe, spotted hyena, zebra and more. The Park also boasts almost 500 species of birds.

Day 03: Akagera National park to Kigali

After breakfast you’ll drive from Akagera National Park to Kigali. The drive will take about three hours. After your arrival you’ll spend the day in Kigali visiting the Genocide Memorial Museum, the Inema arts centre and local markets.

Day 04: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park

Early in the morning after your hot breakfast you’ll depart to Volcanoes National Park – a splendid three-hour drive north among the lush, green landscape of the countryside. The scenery of Volcanoes National Park is incredible with a striking line of volcanoes far into the range. Visit the Gorilla Guardian’s Centre to learn about the history of Volcanoes National Park.

Day 05: Volcanoes National Park

Wake up at sunrise and drive the short journey to the park headquarters where orientation, porters, tea and coffee will be given before starting the adventure into the forest.

Tracking can be between 90 minutes and the whole morning depending on what family group is assigned. You will spend one hour with the gorillas – sometimes moving around to stay with the gorillas or following them. The guide will ensure you are in the best spots to take the most beautiful snap and experience the astounding experience properly.

You will then return to the hotel to freshen up before transferring back to Kigali in the afternoon.

Day 06: Departure

Flight departs from Kigali. It’s our hope you’ve enjoyed your Safari.
